Vitamin C · India

The Vitamin C India grew up on.

One molecule. Held to the Indian Pharmacopoeia, made to the highest quality standard, and dispensed across Indian pharmacy counters for generations.

01

The problem

Low Vitamin C rarely announces itself.

It is water-soluble, so the body holds no meaningful reserve — what you do not use, you lose. Intake drops and nothing dramatic happens. What happens instead is a set of small, ordinary complaints that are easy to blame on something else. Nearly all of them trace back to the same two mechanisms.

Not sure?

Find your Celin.

Six questions and it ends on one specific product, with the reason. There are four in the range and they are genuinely different — the wrong one is a wasted habit.

Nothing recorded, nothing sent.

Signs as listed on Celin’s published patient material. Nutrient roles per the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements Vitamin C fact sheet for health professionals.

These signs have many possible causes and this is not a diagnosis. If any of them apply to you, speak to your physician.

  1. Hair fall or easy breakageHair that sheds or snaps more than it used to.
  2. Bleeding or swollen gumsGums that bleed when brushing.
  3. Frequent cough and coldsCatching every seasonal bug going around.
  4. Weak immunityMinor illnesses that linger far longer than they should.
  5. Dry, rough or damaged skinSkin that stays dry however much you moisturise.
  6. Tiredness or low energyPersistent fatigue that rest does not fix.
  7. Slow healing of woundsCuts and grazes taking longer to close.
  8. Joint pain or weak bonesAching joints, or bones that feel fragile.
02

Why Vitamin C

What ascorbic acid actually does.

Your body cannot make Vitamin C on its own. Every bit of it has to come from what you eat or drink. Once inside, Vitamin C helps certain enzymes do their job — supporting real nutritional functions in the body.

    01

    Promotes collagen production

Vitamin C is a required cofactor for the enzymes that stabilise collagen — the structural protein of skin, blood vessels, cartilage, bone and connective tissue.

Tissues that rebuild collagen fastest feel a shortage first, which is why gums and wound healing show it before anything else.

    In plain English
Collagen is what holds you together. Vitamin C is what lets you build it.

    02

    Reduces oxidative stress

Vitamin C helps protect your cells from everyday damage caused by stress, pollution, and normal body processes — which is what reducing oxidative stress means. It also helps keep your body’s antioxidant system working well.

    In plain English
It helps protect your cells from damage — and keeps your other antioxidants working.

    03

    Boosts energy

Vitamin C is required to build L-carnitine, the molecule that carries fatty acids into the mitochondria to be burned for energy.

This role is often overlooked, but it may explain why tiredness is usually noticed first — before any changes in skin or gums.

    In plain English
Your cells burn fat for fuel. Vitamin C helps get the fuel to the furnace.
  • Diagram: two nerve endings separated by a gap, with vesicles releasing particles that cross toward receptors on the opposite side.

    04

    Supports brain chemistry

The enzyme that converts dopamine into norepinephrine needs Vitamin C to work, as does the step that finishes several peptide hormones.

Ascorbic acid is not only structural — it sits inside the chemistry of signalling.

    In plain English
It is part of how your nervous system makes its own messengers.
  • Diagram: an iron ion changing oxidation state as it crosses a membrane channel.

    05

    Improves iron absorption

Vitamin C converts dietary iron into a form the gut absorbs far more readily. Where much of the iron eaten comes from plants, that conversion does a great deal of quiet work.

    In plain English
Eat it alongside dal or spinach and you actually absorb more of the iron.
  • Diagram: a cell boundary densely filled with particles against a sparsely populated surrounding field, showing a concentration gradient.

    06

    Supports immune function

It accumulates in white blood cells at concentrations far above those in plasma, and contributes to the normal function of the immune system.

What it does not do is prevent, treat or cure illness — and nothing on this site says otherwise.

    In plain English
It helps your immune system do its normal job. It is not a treatment for illness.

Per the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements Vitamin C fact sheet for health professionals: “Vitamin C is required for the biosynthesis of collagen, L-carnitine, and certain neurotransmitters; vitamin C is also involved in protein metabolism.” It is also an antioxidant, contributes to immune function, and improves absorption of non-haem iron.

What makes it Celin

Same molecule. Not the same tablet.

Vitamin C is a commodity — anyone can buy the powder. What differs is how a tablet is built, and whether it is built to be taken for years rather than a fortnight.

  • A vintage brass apothecary balance scale beside a plain glass bottle.

    Decades of trust

Celin has been dispensed across Indian pharmacy counters for over eighty years — before Vitamin C was a wellness category and before anyone was marketing it as one.

  • A single matte orange chewable tablet, its milled surface texture visible in raking light.

    Smarter formulation

The chewable is built on Celifast — micromilled Vitamin C, no coating layer, a disintegrant-free matrix and compression tuned for chewing. The powder is a commodity. What is done with it is not.

  • A smooth white tablet resting beside a matte orange chewable tablet.

    Tailored for every need

A plain uncoated 500 mg tablet, an orange 500 mg chewable, and sugar-free supplements formulated around recommended daily allowances. The question is which one fits, not whether there is one.

  • Many identical white tablets arranged in an even grid, a month of daily doses.

    Everyday immunity

Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system, and the range is built to be taken for years rather than for a fortnight — so the doses are honest about which job they do.

  • A clear glass laboratory flask and a slim pipette on a warm cream ground.

    Highest quality standards

Celin 500 and Celin Chewable are manufactured in RV’s own EU-GMP-certified plant and made to Indian Pharmacopoeia standards. Each batch is tested and released against that official specification.

05

The range

Four products. Two different jobs.

The order is not a ladder. Celin 500 contains 500 mg of Vitamin C; Celin DZ contains 80 mg. They are not stronger and weaker versions of the same thing — one is a pharmacopoeial Vitamin C, the other a daily immunity supplement.

06

The standard

How it is made.

Vitamin C is not a difficult molecule to buy. It is a difficult one to hold to specification through compression, packing, and two years on a shelf in an Indian summer. This section is about the factory, not the products.

Rows of polished stainless steel tablet compression punches and dies in precise repetition.
Indian Pharmacopoeia
Celin 500 and Celin Chewable are made to IP standard. That is a pharmacopoeial monograph with defined limits for identity, assay, and impurities — not a self-declared specification.
Made to the highest quality standard
Celin is made in RV’s own plant, against a specification the company does not get to write for itself, and released batch by batch before a tablet ever reaches a carton. Quality here is a release criterion, not an adjective.
Overages, declared
Ascorbic acid degrades with heat, light and moisture. Celin DZ carries a declared overage on pack — added potency to compensate for loss during storage, so the tablet meets its label through shelf life rather than only on the day it was made.
Tested against a published standard
An IP monograph is not a target the manufacturer sets. It defines the identity, assay and impurity limits a batch must meet, and those are the limits a batch is released against.

Guinness World Records

A sentence built out of Celin.

In August 2025 Celin entered the Guinness World Records — not for the tablet, but for what was written with it. Strips of Celin were laid out to form a single sentence, and that sentence is the one printed on the brand’s posters ever since.

Celin Celebrates Every Indian’s Journey towards Wellness and Strong Immunity.

Where to buy

Ask for it at the counter.

Celin does not sell direct. Every pack comes across a pharmacy counter, which is how the brand has reached people from the beginning.

2,20,000+

Pharmacy counters stock Celin across India

Which means there is almost certainly one within reach of you. Check near you.

At the chemist

Celin has been a pharmacy-counter brand for its whole life, and that is still the route to a pack. Ask for it by name — and by strength, if you already know which one you need.

Not every counter stocks every strength. Ask, or call ahead.

Coming soon

We are going online.

Celin is on its way to the pharmacies and marketplaces you already order from. Eighty years at the counter, and the next chapter is nearly here. Thank you for your patience — and until then, your chemist has it.
