About the products
What is the difference between Celin 500 and Celin DZ?
They are different categories of product. Celin 500 is a Vitamin C tablet made to Indian Pharmacopoeia standard containing 500 mg of Vitamin C, to be used as directed by a physician. Celin DZ is an FSSAI health supplement containing 80 mg of Vitamin C together with 600 IU of Vitamin D3 and 8 mg of Zinc, formulated at recommended daily allowance levels for everyday use. Celin DZ is not a stronger version of Celin 500 — it contains considerably less Vitamin C, alongside two other nutrients.
What is the difference between Celin 500 and Celin Chewable?
The Vitamin C content is the same: 500 mg per tablet in both. The difference is format. Celin 500 is a plain uncoated tablet that is swallowed and carries a no-sugar declaration. Celin Chewable is an orange-flavoured chewable tablet built with Celifast Technology — micromilled Vitamin C, no coating layer and a disintegrant-free matrix. Choose whichever you will actually take every day.
What is Celifast Technology?
Celifast is the formulation used in Celin Chewable. It combines four decisions: Vitamin C milled to a fine uniform particle size, no outer coating layer, a tablet matrix that breaks down without an added disintegrant, and compression tuned for chewing rather than swallowing. Each removes something that normally sits between the tablet and the Vitamin C in it.
Is Celin Gold a Vitamin C product?
Not primarily. Celin Gold is a broad daily nutraceutical — an antioxidant, multivitamin, multimineral and amino acid formula with 12 vitamins, 8 minerals, 11 amino acids, ginseng extract and omega-3, formulated around energy, stamina and focus. It is a coated tablet, swallowed whole. If you are specifically looking for Vitamin C, Celin 500 or Celin Chewable are the Vitamin C products.
Taking Vitamin C
When is the best time to take Vitamin C?
There is no single correct time, and consistency matters more than timing. Because Vitamin C is water-soluble and not stored by the body, taking it at the same point each day is the practical way to keep intake steady. Some people find taking it with food more comfortable. Follow the directions on your pack, and your physician’s instructions where you have them.
Can I take Vitamin C every day?
Health supplements such as Celin DZ are formulated at recommended daily allowance levels for exactly that purpose, and their packs give a daily direction. Celin 500 and Celin Chewable are pharmacopoeial Vitamin C preparations labelled "to be used as directed by a physician", so how long and how often to take them is a decision for your doctor rather than for a website.
Should Vitamin C be taken with food?
Either is generally acceptable, and pack directions should be followed. One thing worth knowing: Vitamin C improves absorption of iron from plant foods, so taking it with an iron-rich meal can be useful if that is a concern of yours.
Safety and suitability
Is Celin suitable for people with diabetes?
Celin DZ carries an explicit "suitable for diabetic patients" declaration on pack, with zero total sugar and zero added sugar, sweetened with mannitol and sucralose. Celin 500 carries a no-sugar declaration. If you are managing diabetes, confirm any supplement or medication with your physician before starting it.
Can children take Celin?
Celin DZ is labelled for ages 8 years and above at one tablet daily. Celin 500 and Celin Chewable are to be used as directed by a physician, and that applies to children as much as adults. Ask your paediatrician before giving any Vitamin C preparation to a child.
Can I take Celin during pregnancy?
Speak to your doctor. Nutrient requirements change during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and decisions about supplements and medicines during pregnancy should be made with your obstetrician rather than from product information.
Does Vitamin C have side effects?
Vitamin C has low toxicity and excess is largely excreted, but high intakes are associated with gastrointestinal discomfort, and there are specific circumstances — including a history of kidney stones, iron-overload conditions, and certain medications — where advice differs. Do not exceed the directions on the pack, and raise any concerns with your physician or pharmacist.
Can you take too much Vitamin C?
Yes, in the sense that more is not better and pack directions exist for a reason. Supplement labels carry a "do not exceed the recommended daily usage" instruction. For pharmacopoeial preparations such as Celin 500, the amount and duration are for your physician to decide.
Buying Celin
Where can I buy Celin?
Celin is dispensed at pharmacy counters across India. Ask for it by name at your chemist. Celin does not sell direct from this website and is not currently listed online.
Do I need a prescription for Celin?
Celin 500 and Celin Chewable are labelled "to be used as directed by a physician". Celin DZ and Celin Gold are health supplements. Your pharmacist can tell you what applies at their counter, and a physician should guide any ongoing use.
How do I know a pack is genuine?
Buy from a licensed pharmacy or an established online pharmacy. Check that the carton carries the RV Consumer Healthcare marking, a batch number, manufacturing and expiry dates, and — on Celin 500 and Celin Chewable — the Indian Pharmacopoeia designation. If anything about a pack looks wrong, do not take it and raise it with the seller.
If you have a health concern, consult your physician.
